GTIA On Location microphones

GTIA On Location headed to Copenhagen for Pax8 Beyond EMEA 2026, where MSPs and channel leaders gathered to talk AI, security and the next big shift in the IT services business model. From the launch of the Managed Intelligence Alliance to hard lessons on AI contracts and cyber readiness, one message came through in every conversation: The move from managed services to managed intelligence is underway, and the providers who build governance, security and trust in from the start will be the ones who lead it.

Below is a roundup of key moments and featured videos worth your time.

What Were IT Service Providers Talking About?

  • Why an AI policy that sits in a drawer isn't enough, and how to turn governance into an operating model with defined roles, sign-offs and an AI council
  • Why the fine print on AI vendor terms matters, from who owns inputs and outputs to how your data trains the model
  • Where responsibility sits between the MSP and the customer, and why ambiguity is the biggest risk in any AI contract
  • Why permission sets designed for humans shouldn't be handed to AI agents as-is
  • The launch of the Managed Intelligence Alliance, with 10 founding members (five vendors and five MSPs) forming its executive council, and why a vendor-neutral nonprofit is the right home for it
  • Why the shift to managed intelligence looks less like cloud and more like the reseller-to-MSP transformation 20-plus years ago: a new business model, not another tool in the stack
  • Two messages that ran through 11 cybersecurity research reports: Threats are moving faster, and people remain the strongest firewall
  • How AI is helping MSPs analyze thousands of logs in minutes instead of hours, while many customers are still figuring out where to start

Featured Videos to Watch

AI Governance for MSPs: Beyond the Policy
Lee Johnson of AirIT and Anne Hall of ITAgree join GTIA's Scott Campbell to explain why AI governance has to become part of how an MSP operates, not a document it files away. Johnson walks through how AirIT moves every AI idea from concept to production, with function-level champions, executive sign-off and an AI council spanning legal, people, risk and compliance and security that reviews ethics, data flows and GDPR. Hall makes the case for reading AI vendor terms closely and updating contracts now, using an umbrella agreement plus project-specific statements of work to keep pace as risks change. Their shared bottom line: Don't let governance become an afterthought.

The Future of Managed Intelligence Starts Now
Carlo Tortora Brayda, newly hired by GTIA to lead the Managed Intelligence Alliance, and Rob Rae of Pax8, who chairs the alliance, join Campbell to unpack what the alliance is and why it matters now. With 10 founding members forming the executive council, next steps include a technical steering committee, working groups and the goal of delivering initial capability standards within its first 12 months. Rae explains why the channel can't wait for governments and enterprises to write the rules again, and why a vendor-neutral nonprofit is the right home for an industry-wide effort. His framing says it all: The last 20 years were about managing services, and the next 20 are about managing intelligence.

MSPs Need to Move Faster: Cybersecurity, AI & Customer Expectations
Jürgen Ebner, owner of ICTE – Managed IT Services in Austria, joins Campbell to share what he learned from reading 11 cybersecurity research reports: Attacks are moving faster, and people are still the strongest firewall. That insight led his team to move from weekly to daily vulnerability scans. Ebner explains how AI now helps his team turn thousands of logs into answers in minutes, and why customer AI conversations should start with what the business wants to achieve. He also walks through a recent win with a defense supplier, where a security check revealed people and process gaps, not technical ones, and a security awareness workshop opened the door to a larger engagement.
