GTIA Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Policy
As the premier IT trade and professional association, GTIA is committed to embracing the values of diversity and inclusion among our workforce, our membership, and the industry as a whole.
We embrace and encourage those differences and characteristics that make our members and event attendees unique, such as age, color, disability, ethnicity, family or marital status, gender identity or expression, language, national origin, physical and mental ability, political affiliation, race, religion, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, and veteran status, among others.
We support both diversity, which is the composition of a group of people from different backgrounds and identities, and inclusion, which is how well the diverse individuals are welcomed into all aspects of the GTIA community.
We believe that a diverse and inclusive environment is essential to achieving sustained excellence, fueling competitive advantage, and promoting innovation. It is the right thing to do.
GTIA's diversity initiatives are built upon the foundational principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion to encourage and enforce:
- Respectful communication and cooperation between all members and GTIA staff.
- Teamwork and participation that allows for the perspective of all members, event attendees, and groups.
- Member and GTIA staff contributions to the communities we serve to promote a greater understanding and respect for diversity, equity, and inclusion.
All GTIA members have a responsibility to treat others with dignity and respect at all times. All members and GTIA event attendees are expected to exhibit conduct that reflects inclusion at all GTIA-sponsored and participative events.
Any GTIA member or event attendee found to have exhibited any discriminatory practices, conduct, or behavior against others may be subject to removal from the relevant GTIA event/meeting.
GTIA members or event attendees who believe they have been subjected to or have witnessed any kind of discrimination that violates our Diversity Policy and initiatives should immediately contact a member of the GTIA staff.
