Thirty-year industry luminary will be recognized for his outstanding leadership and continued contributions to the IT channel
OAKBROOK TERRACE, Ill. – July 18, 2025 – The Global Technology Industry Association (GTIA) is pleased to announce that MJ Shoer, GTIA chief community officer, will receive a Partner in Excellence Award from The ChannelPro Network at the ChannelPro DEFEND: Boston event, taking place Aug. 11-12, in Newton, Mass.
These new MSP industry awards recognize those that drive the IT channel forward, highlighting the outstanding leadership of MSPs, consultants, peer networking coaches and nonprofit leaders who make the channel stronger, more connected, and more successful, according to ChannelPro.
Other Partner in Excellence Award winners include Annette Taber, CEO of BoardSWAP, (Tampa), Wayne Hunter, CEO of AvTek Solutions (Dallas), Lori Tisinai, president of Computer Concepts (Chicago), and Dave Cava, owner of PeopleSharp (New York/New Jersey).

The winners are selected based on nominations from ChannelPro Advisory Group members. The nominees are then reviewed by ChannelPro’s editorial team and winners selected by a secret ballot of Advisory Group members for each ChannelPro Live event.

Shoer has served as chief community officer since January 2022. In this role he leads GTIA’s global community engagement and continues to work across the organization and community. Shoer previously was senior vice president and executive director of the now GTIA Information Sharing and Analysis Organization (ISAO) and is a former member of the CompTIA board of directors. Prior to joining GTIA, Shoer owned and operated for Jenaly Technology Group, a successful MSP based in Portsmouth, N.H., for nearly 20 years before selling it in 2015.
